Filipino International Baptist Church started as a mission work way back in June 1969 when Rev. J.W. Wynn learned that there were about 29 Filipinos who became U.S. citizens that month.
With the desire to minister, Rev. Wynn contacted one of the Filipinos and discussed the possibility of learning God's word. Later, a Filipino Fellowship was formed which met for several years and became the duly constituted First Filipino Baptist Church 1993.
By God’s grace and provisions, the church met in various locations in Jacksonville prior to moving on its present premises. In April 2006, the congregation decided to change its name to FILIPINO INTERNATIONAL BAPTIST CHURCH to be more inclusive in its ministry in the city of Jacksonville.
